What is the best resolution to implement in Digital Signage? Is it ultimately predetermined by the size of the actual device or the zones?

I've got limited experience with digital signage.
We're using UCView for our service provider.
I first started uploading WMV files using somewhere around 512Kbps compression and that worked fine for our use.
Then I switched to QuickTime files (hate editing my video on a PC).
I select "Best" for the QT compression.
Seems to work well.
Side note: seem to get jittery video with the UCView system - not sure if its on their end or mine.

What DS software do you use?
